Best Parenting Blog

| | Comments (42)

Nominate your choice for Best Parenting Blog. Baby bloggers, mommy bloggers, and daddy bloggers would all be appropriate nominees in this category.

Update (Oct. 17): Over the next 24 hours we will be closing nominations for most categories. This is a manual process so it takes a while to complete. As long as a category allows you to enter a comment (which is how you submit a nomination) nominations for that category are still open. When the option to leave a comment is not available you'll know nominations for that category are closed. The "+" rating of nominees will remain open throughout the awards.

To nominate a blog you need to leave a comment on this entry. Your comment should contain the name of the blog, the main URL for the blog, and (if possible) the URL for a RSS/Atom feed. For example:

Unless you login via one of the supported authentication services your comments will be moderated. Due to the volume of comments, it may take up to 24 hours to approve your comment, but all anonymous comments will eventually be posted. Only authenticated comments will be published immediately.

Rules And FAQ's

  • You can nominate yourself, don't be shy.
  • The number of nominations a blog receives is irrelevant. One nomination is enough...
  • Rather than add a "me too" nomination for a site you're encouraged to use the "+" icon to indicate your preference for nominees. The "+" ratings are one extra piece of information the finalist selection panel can use to help generate the finalist slates in each category.
  • The nomination period is scheduled to end on Wednesday, October 17, 2007.
  • Read The Nomination FAQ
  • Get technical help or ask questions at The Weblog Awards Forum
  • If you are linking to the contest consider using the nomination category archive, as it contains links to all of the nomination posts.

This is a great and still little-known parenting blog from a Dad's perspective. Frequently hilarious.

It is a fantastic resource for all new parents. Infant massage, baby sign, babywearing, developmental checklists, baby/toddler product reviews with a difference, interviews with inspirational people...and much more.

A Great Blog about a Mom who loves her kids and shows awesome scrapbook pages, digital style- slideshows, videos, photo albums- and updates almost daily. Not to mention the fact that the kids are beautiful!!!

Relatively new mom blog by the mother of 6 children. Gained notoriety for placing a deck of Poke Mon cards that one of her children had innocently shoplifted while she grocery shopped up on Ebay with a hilarious description of how they came to be placed there.

This is a great new parenting blog, by a mom and children's book author (Maxwell's Mountain, Horris Grows Down). The writing is excellent, and the pieces sincere. Shari is willing to talk about things that others are afraid to admit to others. I think it is award worthy and definitely worth checking out.

I proudly nominate Amy Nathan's hysterical "Kvetch Blog"!!:

Vote for her and enjoy!

I would like to nominate ArmyWife ToddlerMom for this category. She is witty, down to earth and calls it like she sees it. A good read every day.

Army of Mom said:

Just Barely is a very funny read. The author details daily life with a baby and toddler and her writing is crisp. You feel you are right there with her and can identify!

Army of Mom said:

Why not? I'm a mom. I blog about my kids ... so, it is a parenting blog at times. I think most parents can truly identify with the variety of things I post about. Go check it out.

I just found out that you can embed polls from the weblog awards on a homepage. Cool. Supporting us won’t get you a damn tote bag, but you will get regular beer blogging again. And we both know that you can’t get that on NPR." - Balloon Juice

"So I haven't been actively promoting my Weblog Award nomination. Sure, I mentioned it, and I put up a little button, but I haven't told you to vote, have I? I haven't told you to vote once every twenty-four hours, have I? I haven't told you to rise up, my minions, and smite the Internet with your collective force, have I? Have I? Well, now I have." - Looky, Daddy!
