Best Military Blog

| | Comments (81)

Nominate your choice for Best Military Blog. Blogs by members of the armed forces, or blogs that primarily deal with military issues or militia issues are appropriate for this category.

Update (Oct. 17): Over the next 24 hours we will be closing nominations for most categories. This is a manual process so it takes a while to complete. As long as a category allows you to enter a comment (which is how you submit a nomination) nominations for that category are still open. When the option to leave a comment is not available you'll know nominations for that category are closed. The "+" rating of nominees will remain open throughout the awards.

To nominate a blog you need to leave a comment on this entry. Your comment should contain the name of the blog, the main URL for the blog, and (if possible) the URL for a RSS/Atom feed. For example:

Wizbang
http://wizbangblog.com/
http://feeds.wizbangblog.com/Wizbang

Unless you login via one of the supported authentication services your comments will be moderated. Due to the volume of comments, it may take up to 24 hours to approve your comment, but all anonymous comments will eventually be posted. Only authenticated comments will be published immediately.

Rules And FAQ's

  • You can nominate yourself, don't be shy.
  • The number of nominations a blog receives is irrelevant. One nomination is enough...
  • Rather than add a "me too" nomination for a site you're encouraged to use the "+" icon to indicate your preference for nominees. The "+" ratings are one extra piece of information the finalist selection panel can use to help generate the finalist slates in each category.
  • The nomination period is scheduled to end on Wednesday, October 17, 2007.
  • Read The Nomination FAQ
  • Get technical help or ask questions at The Weblog Awards Forum
  • If you are linking to the contest consider using the nomination category archive, as it contains links to all of the nomination posts.

Lex is a excellent blog with a great "caste" of characters.

The MilitaryStars blog covers career issues for transitioning US military members ready to begin a civilian career. We look at nationwide veteran hiring trends & initiatives, education assistance, ways family & community can help out, and more. The military gets epxosed to more than enough negativity so we're dedicated to doing so with positivity and humor. A lot of companies are in the veteran-hiring-assistance game now; we were the first to have our own blog and are still one of the only ones who do!

No one else has the access or the quite same credibility. The soldiers on the ground love him because he tells it, and shows it straight in his amazing photographs.

From the blue side of the aisle, site is just one Average Joe serving his country and sharing his experiences.

Alex said:

Whoa David! I don't claim the blue side or any side.I voted for Bush in '04, and I was going to vote for McCain until he supported the extension/surge. So who knows who I'll vote for now. But I nominate this extraordinary blog:

http://www.armyofdude.blogspot.com

Written by a dashing, handsome and downright funny dude of eloquent taste and unmatched charisma. Also, this is my blog.

I would like to nominate Soldiers' Angels. This is one group of Americans (and Germans) that puts their money and time into supporting our precious men and women who have chosen to do for us what so many are still debating...um...the debate is over. We're there. Come up with a plan or shut up.

Quotes

I just found out that you can embed polls from the weblog awards on a homepage. Cool. Supporting us won’t get you a damn tote bag, but you will get regular beer blogging again. And we both know that you can’t get that on NPR." - Balloon Juice

"So I haven't been actively promoting my Weblog Award nomination. Sure, I mentioned it, and I put up a little button, but I haven't told you to vote, have I? I haven't told you to vote once every twenty-four hours, have I? I haven't told you to rise up, my minions, and smite the Internet with your collective force, have I? Have I? Well, now I have." - Looky, Daddy!
