Here is a complete list of the finalists for The 2007 Weblog Awards. Finalists badges (hosted by Imageshack) will be available Thursday. Voting is scheduled to begin Thursday evening. Links are being added to this listing, it's just lower priority than getting the poll links all finished...
I'd like to thank my team of volunteers who helped look through the thousands and thousands of nominations to come up with, in my opinion, the best top to bottom slate of finalists we've ever had. Even the new categories feature strong slates. I'm really happy with the mix in the international categories and the topic area categories where we were able to get a good selection of sub-genres in a particular category. Thanks first and foremost goes to Weblog Award readers who did an excellent job nominating, but the work the my judging crew did was really outstanding thankless work. Cheers to them!
Note: Best Blog, Best Liberal Blog, and Best Conservative Blog originally had 12 entries each. We thought that our new polls would support more than 10 finalists, but we've had to revert to the 10 finalist limit. They six finalists removed were moved into their respective ecosystem categories as finalists.

Finalists will be announced Wednesday. If we finish the finalist slates before then we will move up the announcement, but right now we're finishing the TTLB ecosystem categories and need all the time we can get. We may release the names of finalists in sections as the day goes on; it all depends on our progress in finalizing things.
Voting should begin Thursday evening.
In the meantime you can go see a mockup of the voting booth. If you want to stay up to date with our general press releases and notification you can sign up for our Weblog Awards newsletter. If you need to talk you can check out the forums.
PS - To those who have seen us looking at your sites from within our secret work bunker we say "hello." Yes we're checking you out. You may be a finalist; you may not. Check back Wednesday to find out for sure.
Update: The list will be up before midnight Eastern.

We're making steady process in selecting the field of finalists, but we can alway use more help!
If you're interested send us an e-mail of leave a comment indicating your interest and we'll get you details on pitching in.
Note: We're under tight deadlines, so unless you can devote time to this over the weekend don't bother volunteering.

Over the next 24 hours we will be closing nominations for most categories. This is a manual process so it takes a while to complete. As long as a category allows you to enter a comment (which is how you submit a nomination) then nominations for that category are still open. The "+" rating of nominees will remain open throughout the awards.
A select few categories may be left open for a few extra days where the number of nominations is low. If there are categories left open we'll provide direct links to them in an update to this entry.
Finalist will be announced the last week of October and voting starts Nov. 1, 2007. Keep watching this page for news and information leading up to the voting period and make plans to join us at the awards ceremony at the BlogWorld & New Media Expo in Las Vegas, Nov. 8.

Since we're not quite ready to begin selecting finalist slates, and because there's always people late to the party, I'm extending nominations for all categories until Wednesday.
