I continue to think that the largest missing category in these awards is

Best Food / Recipes Blog

I was surprised not to see a category for best religion blog. Might be something to consider given how many there are.

How about a category for new blog products and services ie widgets etc.?

The gun blogs or 2nd amendment blogs. Whichever. I think they make up a significant community in the blogosphere that has gotten scant attention outside their readership.

How about best Gunblog? There's a LOT of us. Check the Truth Laid Bear's community page for just a partial list.

Gun blogs are a huge and growing type of blog. I'd like to nominate a gun blogger for best of.

I, personally, would like the idea of a gun/second amendment weblog category... There are enough of them out there these days to provide a large enough basis to judge.

What about best College Blog, or Student Blog?

I also noted the lack of a pet related category. Since 43% of the bloggers out there are cat bloggers, perhaps an addition of a pet category is warranted.

Perhaps splitting Africa from the Middle East and make two separate categories.

I see a category for Video of the Year, why not also have a category for Blog Post of the Year?

Also, noticed the ad running in the sidebar was borderline NSFW. Since a number of people read/vote from work, you might want to address that prior to the nominations/voting lest you find the site blocked by Websense or something like that.

The ads are new and I'm working on tweaking the settings to get them right. That will be fixed before nominations open up...

I think a blog services, content aggregation or widget services category would be great.

RE: Pet category.

I note that there are a large number of weblogs actually written by animals.

Dog Blogs, cat blogs, chimp blogs, etc. that are actually written fro the point of view of the animal.

The ads should be a bit tammer now...

I would love to see the return of the best Religious blog category. It was dropped (last year?) and there are so many good ones out there that I'd love to see it back this year!
